Edition Wiring Regulations - Exam Training”
ANNOUNCING :
'17th
Edition Wiring Regulations BS7671
EXAM HOME STUDYING GUIDE'
Good
Morning,
What
would you do if you were if you were no longer qualified as an
electrician?
Doesn’t
bear thinking about does it?
Did you know....
That from
1st July 2008 it legal a
requirement that all electricians take the 17th
Edition Wiring Regulations BS7671to stay
qualified
Does this apply to you?
If the electrician does not do the
upgrade to the latest edition of the regulations it did not used
to be the end of the world. I myself was trained to the 15th
edition back in 1984 and didn't take the 16th edition as I was
working for a company during the subsequent years. But now
with the introduction of Part P of the building regulations, it
has become nearly impossible to do any electrical work
within the domestic sector without upgrading to the latest
edition of the electrical regulations, because nearly all work
has to be tested, signed off and sent to the
local building control.
The 17th edition of BS7671:2008 wiring regulations finally came
into publication on the 21st of January 2008. The
regulations were published by the IEE (Institute of Electrical
Engineers). Any installation will have to comply
with the 17th edition of BS7671 if it is designed constructed or
tested from the 1st July 2008.
...This also means that any
domestic electrical installations that come under Part P of the
building regulations now have to comply with the 17th edition of
BS7671:2008
What does this
all mean...
If you
passed your 16th Edition BS 7671 after June 2001,
then you will only need to do the 1hour / 30 question
test (City & Guilds 2382-20).
OR...
Any
electrician who qualified before June 2001 will have to
do the 2 hour / 60 question test (City & Guilds 2382-10).

HOME STUDY EXAM TRAINING GUIDE
Within this
e-book are selections of typical questions that may appear in
your final exam.
Your final
exam is comprised from a database of 500 questions of
which 30 or 60 questions will be selected at random. The exams
today are all carried out on a computer in the form of a
multiple choice questionnaire. This system lets you go back and
forth through the questions, enabling you to flag any answer you
are not sure about so that you can come back to it if you have
any spare time. Remember you will only have an average of 2
minutes per question. Although this does not sound like a lot of
time you will find that it will average itself out between the
questions you instantly know and the ones you don’t.
